Agnes Coakley Cox

British-American soprano Agnes Coakley Cox is a soloist, ensemble musician, and teacher specializing in early music. After graduating summa cum laude in Music at Yale, Agnes studied voice, historical performance practice, and pedagogy at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel, Switzerland, where her teacher and mentor was Evelyn Tubb. Now based in the Boston area, Agnes is a member of the Choir of the Church of the Advent and appears with ensembles including The Thirteen, Seven Times Salt, Cappella Clausura, Schola Cantorum of Boston, and her own ensemble for seventeenth-century music, In Stile Moderno. She made her opera debut as Cupid in Amherst Early Music Festival's King Arthur in July 2017, directed by Drew Minter.
