Samantha Scheff

Samantha Scheff is a senior at the University of Maryland studying choral music education and is the 2017 UMD Presser Scholar. She is also a member of the University of Maryland Chamber Singers and frequently collaborates with the National Symphony Orchestra and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Since 2015, she has directed Maryland Palestrina Choir, a group of students, staff, and community members devoted to performing music from the Renaissance. She is also the Music Director of OperaTerps, the university's only student run opera company.  As an organist, Samantha was the first place winner in the 2017 D.C./Potomac/NoVa AGO/Quimby Competition. She was also the recipient of an AGO Organist/Composer Collaborative Grant and an E. Power Biggs Fellowship from the Organ Historical Society.  She has appeared with the NIH Philharmonia and at the University of Maryland with the Bach Cantata Series and Summer Chorus and Orchestra.  Samantha is currently the Associate Organist at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Rockville, MD and Organ Scholar at New York Avenue Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C
