Martha Harris

Martha Caldwell Harris is a retired educator and government official. She served in the policymaking community, working for Congress, the National Academy of Sciences and the State Department focusing on science and technology issues.    

She lived overseas in Japan and Belgium for more than 15 years. She taught at the university level and serves on other non-profit organization boards, including at the University of Wisconsin where she earned a doctorate in Political Science and East Asian Studies. She was a Fulbright Scholar in Japan where she worked professionally.

Harris lives in Alexandria, Virginia where she is actively contributing to nearby River Farm, The Carlyle House Museum and city policy-setting activities. She is happy to join The Thirteen at its concerts in Alexandria.
