Steven Berlanga

Bass-baritone and conductor Dr. Steven Berlanga resides in Philadelphia, PA. He studied voice, opera, and conducting at Indiana University, College-Conservatory of Music University of Cincinnati, California State University – Long Beach, and Cabrillo College. As a soloist, Dr. Berlanga has worked with organizations including IndependentSounds Philadelphia, Choral Arts Philadelphia, West Bay Opera, Cabrillo Stage, New Voices Opera, Arizona Philharmonic, and Santa Cruz Symphony. As a choral artist, he is rostered with professional chamber choirs in the United States including The Crossing, Santa Fe Desert Chorale, The Thirteen, Kinnara, and Exigence. As a conductor and educator he has worked with Interlochen Arts Academy, IndependentSounds, Play on Philly, Snyder School of Singing, Cabrillo Symphonic Chorus, Youth Orchestra Salinas, the Williston Northampton School Choirs among others. Dr. Berlanga often works with organizations that break the norm, such as Border CrosSing, El Sistema, the Sphinx Organization, Convoco, and the Santa Cruz Opera Project.
