The Thirteen (“The Thirteen,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a performing arts organization based in the Washington, D.C. area, with performances and activities in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, and elsewhere. We respect the privacy of our patrons, supporters, subscribers, website visitors, and others who interact with us.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, process, use, and protect personal information when you visit our website, purchase tickets, attend our performances or events, join our mailing list, respond to our advertising or promotions, or otherwise interact with The Thirteen.
1. Personal Information We Collect
We may collect personal information that you provide directly to us, including:

Transaction information, such as the performances or events for which you purchase tickets, ticket quantities, purchase amounts, and billing address;

3. Email and Marketing Communications
If you join our mailing list, purchase tickets, request a promotional offer, or otherwise provide us with your contact information, we may use your information to communicate with you about The Thirteen and its performances, events, fundraising activities, and other activities.
You may unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in the email or by contacting us at info@thethirteenchoir.org. We may continue to send non-promotional (i.e., transactional) communications as necessary, such as communications concerning a ticket purchase or other transaction.
4. Information Collected Through Social Media and Advertising
The Thirteen may advertise or conduct promotional campaigns through Facebook, Instagram, Meta, and/or other social-media and advertising platforms. These campaigns may allow you to provide information directly through the platform—for example, by providing your email address in exchange for a promotional code or discount on tickets.
When you submit information in response to one of our campaigns, we may receive that information from the platform and use it for the purposes described when you submitted it and as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.
Social-media and advertising platforms may separately collect information about you under their own privacy policies. The Thirteen does not control those platforms' independent collection or use of information.
5. Sharing Information With Other Arts and/or Cultural Organizations
The Thirteen may occasionally collaborate with, and/or exchange limited patron or marketing information with, other arts, cultural, and/or performing-arts organizations whose audiences may have interests similar to those of The Thirteen's patrons.
For example, The Thirteen may provide such organizations with names, email addresses, or other limited contact information for an agreed-upon communication and/or marketing use. The Thirteen may similarly receive contact information from another participating organization for communications and/or marketing use.
When The Thirteen participates in such an exchange, the participating organizations agree to terms for the exchange.
If you receive a communication from The Thirteen as a result of such an arrangement and you do not want The Thirteen to include your contact information in future exchanges with other arts and/or cultural organizations, you may contact us at info@thethirtenchoir.org to unsubscribe.
6. Other Circumstances in Which We Share Information
In addition to the limited exchanges described above, we may disclose personal information to:

Organizational transactions. If The Thirteen undergoes a merger, reorganization, transfer of assets, or similar organizational transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
7. Payment Information
When you purchase tickets or otherwise make a payment, payment information may be collected by The Thirteen or by a third-party ticketing or payment processor.
Where a third party processes a payment on our behalf, its collection, processing, and security of payment-card information are governed by its applicable terms and privacy practices. The Thirteen may receive information about the transaction, such as your name, contact information, billing address, amount paid, and tickets purchased, without receiving or retaining your complete payment-card number.
Where The Thirteen processes payment information directly, we use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and the transaction.
8. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, understand how visitors use our website, measure the effectiveness of our communications and advertising, and improve our services.

Information received from another organization specifically for a one-time marketing communication is deleted following that use in accordance with the applicable arrangement, except to the extent limited retention is required by law or necessary to maintain a record of an individual's opt-out request.

The Thirteen's website, ticketing, and marketing activities are intended for a general audience and are not directed specifically to children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information in circumstances requiring parental consent, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
