The Thirteen’s free Student Matinees for grades 9–12 invite young people to experience the transformative power of live vocal ensemble music and meet the artists who bring it to life.
Our programs connect music with the stories, emotions, and questions that shape our lives. Each 90-minute field trip includes an introduction to the music, an hour-long performance, and a conversation with the conductor and musicians. Students can ask questions, discover how singers make sound, and explore what a career in music might look like.
Teachers receive advance study guides to help students connect what they hear with classroom learning. Whether your students already sing in a choir or are discovering choral music for the first time, these performances invite them to listen closely, think creatively, and find something of themselves in the music.
