Adam Gillette
Adam C. Gillette is an associate at Williams & Connolly LLP, where he practices trial and appellate litigation. Before joining Williams & Connolly, Adam served as a law clerk to the Hon. Thomas L. Ambro of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Hon. Susie Morgan of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
Adam graduated with high honors and Order of the Coif from the University of North Carolina School of Law, which he attended on a full-tuition merit scholarship as a Chancellors Scholar. He graduated from the University of Chicago with a bachelor's degree in history, with honors.
In the years between college and law school, Adam held a variety of strategy and operations roles in finance, technology, and state and federal political campaigns.
But before all that, Adam took 12 years of piano lessons in the Suzuki method. (His teacher, still a dear family friend, likes to say he attended another nine months of his brother's lessons in utero.) He sang in the men's choir in college, explored the alto saxophone in middle school, and played any number of instruments growing up in church, including in the children's handbell choir his mom directed.
Adam is married to the composer Hilary Purrington. They live in Southwest DC with their rescue dog, Haydn, who is named after another composer.
