David Ross
David Ross is a freelance historical flutist based in New York City. He grew up in Minnesota playing piano, violin, and modern flute. Since 2009 his career has focused exclusively on the performance of 18th and 19th century flutes and piccolos. David studied baroque flute with Wilbert Hazelzet at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague, Netherlands where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Early Music in 2011. In 2014 his studies concluded with a Master’s degree from the Juilliard School’s Historical Performance Program. In the 2025 – 26 season David will perform works by JS Bach, Lully, Charpentier, Rebel, Handel, Telemann, Graupner, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Mendelssohn with a variety of ensembles.
